A size medium fit nicely through the shoulders and the fit allows for a sweater layer underneath. The lining makes for easy on and off and just makes it fall nicely. The colors are much more vibrant--lovely navy blue, forest green, and royal blue. The wool itself has a very finished look--great quality. The plaid actually matches all the way around. The cut is great; it reminds me of a 40s car-coat, but it's lighter weight than that. It's a relaxed fit that leaves plenty of room for a bulky sweater, especially in the sleeves. And to actually move. I hate coats that don't let me move my arms freely. I'd consider it a mid-weight coat--warmer than a shirt jacket, but you'll want that bulky sweater if it's really cold out. It has that classic quality that's really hard to come by these days.
