<span itemprop="description">Because of the high wool content, I had high hopes for these socks. Unfortunately, they were very cold and thin. In my opinion, these should have been labeled dress socks; that is how thin the knit is. If it were not for the over-tight top ribbing, the socks would fall down.
Out of five pairs of merino wool socks I bought from Pendleton, only one pair was warm -- the white ones with the multicolored stripes. The only reason I did not give the Sierra Ridge socks one star, is that a different pair was even worse because the fabric was so stiff and cardboardy that I actually broke a nail pulling them on.
Unfortunately, the only way to tell the socks will be cold is to wear them, which makes them unreturnable. These are worthless to me, and will go to a shelter.</span>
