Additional Information

This brilliantly colored design incorporates imagery that is universal among Native American cultures: the sun, moon, stars and rain clouds represent an honored relationship with the spiritual world. The natural world is represented by flora—corn, squash, beans and tobacco—and fauna—buffalo, bear, elk and eagle. The dynamic central image is a sacred circle with a cross, a universal symbol of the origin of humankind and the four directions, North, West, South and East. Part of our Legendary Collection, this design honors stories and symbols of Native American cultures. Each year a new USA-made collector’s blanket is added to the series.

Each year, we add a new blanket to our Legendary Series, which honors Native American traditions and legends. Many are designed by tribal artists. These collectible heirlooms are lasting symbols of the mutual respect between Pendleton and our first customers.

Legendary Series blankets are woven in our historic mill in Pendleton, Oregon, with a commemorative label that tells the story of each exclusive design.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm and soft This blanket is unique and brightens up a room. The side of the blanket with the dark background is very dramatic, while the reverse side is vibrant and bold. I'm very happy it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A beautiful piece of artwork Hands down the most beautiful blanket I have ever owned. Like some of the other reviewers mentioned, the pictures just do not do it justice. Craftsmanship is exceptional. Both warm and soft there is something about wool that other fabrics just can't imitate. With care this blanket will easily last my lifetime. Thank you Pendleton for still making this quality product in the USA.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite blanket of all time I keep it folded at the foot of my bed and take it off to cuddle on the couch or take the pups for winter walk . I LOVE! This blanket is my all time favorite. It's very warm and cozy. And surprisingly soft for wool. Theres no wool quite like pendleton. I would fill my house with them but the dry clean only would just become to much. The quality is top notch. Lifetime investment which makes up for a higher price point. Money well spent. A piece of art that is very useful. The colors are stunning and match everything throughout my whole house.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful color, design and quality I was reluctant to order this blanket due to the muted colors online. So glad I did. The colors were vibrant and beautiful. The quality was outstanding. The blanket far exceeded my expectations and I would not hesitate to buy another.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautifully designed I was looking for a blanket for my wife. She is from the Ojibwe Nation, Ste. St. Marie. This blanket was very fitting because of it's universal design, and the idea it represents. She loves it! I love it because of all those things AND it's made here in the USA!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect The blanket is beyond amazing! It's perfect. The color, it's vibrance, the contrast, and bold statement it makes is just so beautiful. It fits perfectly around a full sized bed with some sides folding over the bed. It's thick and plush, but best of all its not itchy or coarse. I almost wish I never gave it away as a present.

Is Shared Spirits Blanket the same on both sides?

Asked by: Gail
Unfortunately it appears we do not have a photo of the back of our Shared Spirits blanket available. The back of this blanket is very bright and will look like horizontal rainbow stripes. You can look at the back of our Big Medicine Blanket (Item #71499) to get an idea of the difference.
