Additional Information

Since the early 1900s, Pendleton has honored our National Parks with a collection of distinctive park blankets. Each blanket is woven in our American mills and has a Pendleton label signifying its authenticity. A special woven label with the park name depicts an image of an important natural feature. This one honors Badlands National Park, designated a national treasure by President Roosevelt in 1929, and home to one of the world's richest fossil beds. Deep forest green, golden sunrise yellow, sunset orange and light earthy brown reflect the natural beauty of the landscape's sharply eroded buttes, pinnacles and spires. The Lakota knew the place as mako sica. Early French trappers called the area les mauvaises terres a traverser. Both mean "bad lands," no doubt a reference to the rugged and treacherous terrain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm, fits well and is very pretty I have used this blanket for about a month along with another Pendleton blanket. Keeps me nice and warm and isn't too heavy. Gave me just what I was looking for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful I bought this as a wedding gift for my friend. I think she cuddled the blanket more than her husband on the night of their wedding. Great purchase!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best quality I’ve had this blanket for 2 years now and I use it every day. The full size was perfect for two people to share with in bed. It keeps me warm in the winter and I still use it in summer when the air conditioning and the fan on because it is so comfortable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hetrloom treasures as well as practical I had a bit of a financial windfall and I purchased six different of the Pendleton National Park blankets for each of my brothers and sisters. Each received a different National Park blanket, so a rainbow of colors, but all made for a lifetime of use. I told them all to use them and they have. All have remarked about the quality and warmth. I got the Glacier Park for myself. All of these will be handed down for many generations.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely Blanket, nice weight My husband has become super attached to his primary Pendleton blanket (yes, I know that's silly but when you've got a blanket that's the perfect weight etc having to switch to some improvised temporary bedding can be sweaty and/or cold) so I offered to get him another Pendleton blanket while his old one was being re-bound. This is the one he picked. The actual main color is more grey than it appears in the photos (which is very green) but it still looks really nice. He loves it.
