King size drapes nicely on queen sized bed
Nice blanket the colors are darker than pictured. Its more brown than tan. Very warm. Not as soft as marino wool but can be washed and dried at home in washer/dryer. A fair trade off for not having to have to take it to dry cleaners. Needed to be washed right out of the package due to the amount of sizing in product. Becomes softer with each successive wash with liquid fabric softener. Dryer sheets aren't as effective. I bought a king size for so it would drape nicely on the bed like a coverlet. The large size means there's enough coverage for me and for my pets who like to cuddle on it too. It's more like 4.5 stars because the color was sort of a let down. I still love the blanket despite it not matching the rest of the bedding.

Love Pendleton; grateful to have wool available
Tired of fussing with duvet's; searched this winter for quality wool blankets (low to high end) and chose Pendleton.for reliability with potential washability like my existing wool blanket of many years duration. King size is very generous;love the misty ridge plaid. Customer service could not color match to a specific companion plain blanket, so I ended up buying several colors...the navy was a dark heather campy, nappy look, the white was a more refined, smooth true ivory, the camel was on the textured side with a hint of orange; shale blue was smooth heather-like blue/green, but did not pop the plaid. Waiting for the sale priced fawn to arrive. Weight is about 6#, so 2-3 blankets is about right to keep us warm with 19* outside and 60* inside. We do not sleep well under lightweight cashmere type luxury blankets, so a bit of scratchiness is easily endurable under flannel sheeting.... stays in place without tugging. Edges are neat and should wear well; you can't miter bulky corners and satin binding would wrinkle with washing. For comparison, this is a warmer heavier blanket than the Pendleton merino wool blanket with binding, which is also shorter. Look at the dimensions; this blanket is 96" which is not standard in other brands even if manufactured for them by Pendleton!

Blanket purchase
This is the first blanket I've purchased from Pendleton, and we love it. I've always wanted a wool blanket and now have had the opportunity to actually get one. I do have other Pendleton wool products - shirts that I purchased in 1976 (45 years ago) at a country western store - and they are still like new, and they still fit! Of course I've only worn them in the winter time, and have them dry cleaned before putting them up for the season, but they seem to last forever. Also have a wool jacket that is almost 30 years old, and as with the shirts, is almost like new. So, the Pendleton products will almost last a lifetime if taken care of. Even though this blanket is washable, when winter is over, we plan to dry clean and put it back into a heavy plastic bag and store it in a cedar chest until the weather dictates us to take it out.

Great blanket!
I bought the king size blanket for our queen size bed because both my husband & I are usually fighting for the covers. I had read some reviews that other customers posted about the scratchiness or the smell of the blanket. I do not think the blanket had any noticeable odor and as far as the feel of the wool, it is much softer than the wool blankets I remember as a kid! The blanket is lightweight but it is warm! We have only heavy weight flannel sheets and this blanket on our bed and we are perfectly warm all night. We live in Eastern PA so our winters aren't extremely cold but definitely cold enough to need warm bedding. Thanks Pendleton for the fine craftsmanship of this domestically manufactured wool blanket!!
