Additional Information

A brave warrior astride a swift steed thunders across the plain. Similar images were painted on buffalo hides by Plains Indians in the 1800s. Our Celebrate the Horse blanket is based on a design from the Blackfoot tribe, expert horsemen who called the animal “elk-horse” for its great size. The arrival of the horse with 16th-century Spanish Conquistadors changed forever the culture of Native Americans, encouraging migration, trading, herding and hunting.
• 64" x 80"
• Napped and felt bound.
• Pure virgin wool/cotton
• Dry clean
• Made in USA

Each year, we add a new blanket to our Legendary Series, which honors Native American traditions and legends. Many are designed by tribal artists. These collectible heirlooms are lasting symbols of the mutual respect between Pendleton and our first customers.

Legendary Series blankets are woven in our historic mill in Pendleton, Oregon, with a commemorative label that tells the story of each exclusive design.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Both sides of the Robe are stunning! I bought two Legendary “blankets” sight unseen, with matching coffee mugs—because I liked the pattern on the coffee mug version. They were purchased at one store but shipped from another store location because the first store had none in stock. Turns out that these are Robes, not a bed blanket. The Robe reverses to a different color. The colors are very rich and the quality can’t be matched. I had originally decided to return one but after the two arrived I couldn’t do it. My robe keeps me warm when I sit on my sofa, in the early mornings sipping my coffee out of the matching mug, or late evenings before I retire. I keep both robes where everyone can see them and marvel at their quality and beauty. Or to cuddle up with if they feel a chill here in the mountains. They certainly bring one closer to Indian Heritage. One could not appreciate the history and beauty any other way.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Honor the Great Legend I love my blanket. It went on my Grand Children's bed immediately! We have several of your Indian blankets in our home and I am proud to display the fine work. Their art adds to the room and their story adds to the fine tradition of who we are as an American people. Thank you so much.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Celebrate the Horse but Not the Tax The best part of this transaction is the blanket which is a replacement for one I have that got a little moth damage. We love Pendleton blankets and clothing. The only problem I had with this transaction was the sales tax which was actually higher than the Oklahoma City rate of .08375 (which is higher than the state rate) and higher than the Oregon sales tax rate. So what gives here? In the future it would be better if I went to Tulsa and ordered through the store.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm, sturdy and comfortable It's just a great blanket. It looks great and can be flipped over for a turquoise background instead of red. It's very warm.
