An essential among California surfers in the '60s, and still our bestselling shirt today. Made from premium, machine-washable wool sourced from local ranchers in Umatilla County, Oregon near our Pendleton mill. Rugged, midweight fabric is water, odor and stain-resistant. Square bottom, two bias-cut pockets. Tall fits men 6' and up.
• Pure virgin wool
• Fabric woven in our American mills
• Machine wash
• Imported of USA fabric

Machine wash with like colors, warm, gentle cycle. No bleach. Tumble dry low; remove promptly. Light steam press, warm, as needed.
It all started in the early 1960s, when Southern California surfers started wearing our Board Shirts on the beach. In ’62 the Beach Boys wore the style on their first album cover, transforming it into a nationwide sensation.

Today the Board Shirt is our #1 bestseller, made of Umatilla wool sourced from Oregon ranchers and spun, dyed and woven in our American mills—just like the original.

BOARD SHIRT is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 399.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from I want to own more but... I don’t know why the sleeves are so short on the regular large size. I want the large size with longer sleeves and not longer shirt tail length like I assume I’d get with a tall. Help please.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cool but Fragile I received one of these for Christmas: very cool shirt. Wore it about 4 times as a nice over shirt during some colder beach evenings. I brushed into an alley wall the other day (it's a tiny alley to my friend's apartment, I've probably probably bumped that wall 40 times by now) but for what ever reason the shoulder seam just died : about 3" of damage egresses across multiple seams and eventually ingresses into the fabric... I plan to patch it up and just use it when I'm doing more manual things... Relaxing at home or hanging out on the beach, but it won't ever be the same (it won't be presentable). The shirt has never been washed and been around only a few weeks... It couldn't stand up to something a summer shirt (a basic cotton shirt) could take a hundred times over. To clear, I like this shirt alot... i recently ordered a second of the same color to replace it. I'll probably even order a few more if they end up offering more tall colors (provided this second one doesn't have the same problem). But I want to caution that it's probably the most fragile thing I've ever owned (when most of my other pendleton things are some of the most robust). I'm hoping it might just have been a manufacturing defect, but we'll see.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Runs really big I love the shirt, however it is rally big. I received this as a present and got a small however it fits like a large. I have to wear it tucked in and it is really baggy, however it is a nice warm shirt

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This girl wanted one I'm a 5' 10" tall woman, and I bought a Tall Large for myself. I've had plaid envy for all the patterns offered to the guys over the years. The sleeves have to be rolled up, but I love the length of the body, I would call it tunic length. I've been wearing it around the house for warmth, but I can also see myself wearing this with skinny jeans or belted with a pencil skirt and Boots. I got the turquoise ombre and it's just beautiful! It's not itchy either!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Having purchased eight XXX BOARD SHIRTS: The contemporary XXX board shirt is significantly downsized. It’s comparable in size to the American made Pendleton 2X of a couple decades ago. That said, the quality is on par with your historic standards. It’s just disappointing to .have to wrangle a diminished sizing paradigm. I tried one of your 2X JACKETS on the promise that its generous cut would accommodate layering. No dice, not nearly as large as garments of a similar quality (Schott, etc.) I don’t expect any remediation of your current cut policy. It’s just saddening that I’m segregated out of your broader range of garments.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unbeatable Pendleton Quality I love my Pendleton charcoal gray plaid Board Shirt. Same flawless quality I've always expected from Pendleton, beautiful intricate yet subtle pattern in the cloth. I know that I will get many years of happy wear out of this shirt.
