Bolton Inc/Pendleton Woolen Mills teams with New Mexico Centennial
to Weave History

Albuquerque, NM – New Mexico Centennial, the organization planning New Mexico's year-long statewide Centennial celebration in 2012, announced its partnership with Bolton Inc/Pendleton Woolen Mills to design and weave an honorary Centennial blanket.

The blanket is designed as a commemorative item and fund raising tool for the New Mexico Centennial. Each custom blanket is individually signed by New Mexico's Governor Susana Martinez, the country's first elected female Hispanic governor. Each New Mexico Centennial blanket is numbered and labeled with a limited quantity of only 400 blankets being created.

A portion of the proceeds from the sale of each blanket will be donated to the Zia Pueblo Education fund, the New Mexico Centennial Sponsorship Committee and the New Mexico Education fund.

The New Mexico Centennial blanket is designed around the red Zia sun symbol. Four is a sacred number which symbolizes the Circle of Life: four winds, four seasons, four directions and four sacred obligations. The circle binds the four elements together. While the Zia symbol is closely associated with the Pueblo of Zia, the symbol is also used by numerous pueblos throughout New Mexico. The Zia symbol is the center point of the New Mexico state flag and license plate.

The design staff at Bolton Inc found inspiration and advice from numerous sources and customers throughout New Mexico in this yearlong design process. "We worked with the New Mexico Centennial committee and had assistance from Zia Pueblo in creating a custom design to celebrate the State's 100th anniversary of statehood," said Arnold Cordova, from Bolton.

Bolton Inc and Pendleton Woolen Mills have a long history of successful fund raising with specialty designed blankets. Bolton Inc looks forward to a year of celebration wrapped in this wonderful Pendleton blanket.

The New Mexico Centennial blanket is currently available at Pendleton The Courtyard store, 1100 San Mateo NE, Albuquerque, NM, 505-255-6444 or New Mexico Centennial website www.shopnm100.com.
