Handmade Acoma Manta Rug

Hand-dyed and hand-loomed by Zapotec Indians in Oaxaca, Mexico. These master weavers use ancient techniques and colorfast aniline chrome dyes. This beautiful design is from a mid-1800s manta, an embroidered dress worn by Acoma Indian women. It combines a Spanish floral motif with prehistoric graphic elements from the Anasazi. 100% Churro wool handspun on a drop spindle. Imported. $35.00 additional shipping.
