North Trail Blanket

The North Trail pattern is a tribute to the historic Old North Trail that runs along the Rocky Mountains from Canada to New Mexico. For 10,000 years Native Americans have traveled its length – first on foot, then with dog-pulled travois and later on horses. According to Blackfeet Chief Brings-Down-the-Sun, it's the route followed by the great tribes on yearly journeys from their northern hunting grounds to their southern winter encampments. Traces of the trail can be seen today in locations east of Choteau, Montana, close to where the city of Helena now stands. The North Trail design includes traditional Native American symbols – arrows crossed in friendship and peace, directional crosses and mountains – woven in vivid shades of green, red and gold on black. Twin is felt-bound, other sizes have sueded fabric trim. Unnapped. 82% pure virgin wool/18% cotton. Dry clean. Made in the USA.
