RETURN OF THE SUN BLANKET
A USA-made wool blanket created in partnership with Native American artist Larry Ahvakana. The changing of the seasons plays a central role in many Iñupiat traditions and activities, and in Mr. Ahvakana's sculpture work. This blanket celebrates the arrival of the sun back to the Arctic and the start of hunting season. A soft rainbow of basic geometric shapes evokes an Arctic sunrise, with wavelike shapes below reminiscent of icy peaks beneath a soft grey sky.
