From the Pendleton Tribute Series, which pays homage to the American mills that pioneered the weaving of Native American trade blankets. This intricately patterned wool blanket makes for a beautiful tribute to Wisconsin’s Racine Woolen Mills. The now-closed mill was known for weaving high-quality fringed shawls worn primarily by Native American women. Reverses for two different looks.

During the late 1800s and early 1900s, five major mills created blankets specifically for sale and trade to Native Americans. Today, Pendleton remains the only woolen mill still in business. Blankets in our Tribute Series pay homage to the American mills of the past by recreating some of their most iconic blanket patterns.
