Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the large lower front pockets! It's too bad this coat no longer seems available (I got it online at a Nordstroms clearout), but I wanted to write this review for Pendleton's benefit, in hopes they will make more coats like this one, with the below suggestions towards the perfect coat. I had to search high and low for a coat that: 1. is brightly colored (for improved day-time visibility to distracted drivers). The coat could be more visible after dark if it had the subtle reflective piping I've seen in other brands of coats for grown ups. Most kids' coats now feature the less-subtle reflective piping, which also would have suited me fine on this coat. In the meantime, I'll look for where I can attach reflective strips that don't look odd in the daytime. 2. is not too thick, so I can layer as appropriate to wear on more days and not be overly hot as it warms over the day (with a thick fleece, this was just fine for as low as -5C / 23F while walking.) I also just bought an insulated coat I started calling my polar-vortex coat, as it is way too hot unless it is well under -10C. 3. has large enough pockets to store a hat, gloves, small scarf and keys - this third one was the hardest to find. Has the whole fashion industry gone insane, deeming useful pockets "out of style"? Has everyone else gotten hat/glove/scarf butlers who travel with them to cope with the lack of useful pockets on coats? What is with the side-entry hand-warmer-only pockets where nothing stays securely, especially those under a faux-top-loading flap!? I ordered this online so was a bit worried the large lower pockets are actually only side-loading, but was super relieved that they are real, functional pockets, where you know, you can put stuff... Others have noted that these pockets are not securely attached to the coat, so I'll watch for unraveling. That said, the huge pockets look odd on the tiny model pictured, but if you're bigger than the model, they will look more proportional. (Maybe a hidden benefit of having more average-sized models??) The outer chest pockets are not particularly useful. They are not that secure even if you manage to contort and attach the flap button while the coat is on. So, I'm still finding a good place to store keys by themselves. Maybe I'll DIY a zipper on at least one of the chest pockets. The hood works really well - I can't really explain it - but a combination of (adjustable) size and fabric stiffness makes it one you don't have to fight with to stay on, with or without a hat underneath. The 2-way zipper is a little tougher to do up than a 1-way zipper, but at least it doesn't start all the way at the bottom of the coat, so you don't have to be completely doubled over while engaging the zipper. The waterproofing on the zipper makes getting it started harder, and may be overkill since the zipper can be covered up with the flap if it is raining that hard. Finally, the lining that came in my (red one) is more beige than black/green, which was an awesome surprise since I think it goes better with the red. The fabric was fine - I didn't find it too stiff / rustle-y or concerns others had, but I'm used to gortex raincoats. Like all coated fabrics, it smelled a little strong out of the bag, but that won't be a problem for long. Overall, a unicorn of a good-looking and functional coat that I can potentially modify to be the perfect coat!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love it Bought this last week because of all the Washington rain we’ve gotten. Keeps me dry and the hood stays on and doesn’t mess the hair. The fabric is a little stiff, but wear it once and you’ll forget about it. Looks great with pencil skirt and boots too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE MY NEW RED RAINCOAT! It is a great fit with room for a sweater under it. I love the plaid lining and lots of extra features. The only thing I don't like much is that it is a crisp fabric and it rustles when I walk. I can put up with that though.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love it. Very Cute. Need to layer. It's a great coat. The hood is amazing and will keep you dry. It's not very warm, but it's roomy enough to layer underneath. Just keep that in mind if it's a cold day.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it I wasn't sure about this item from the pictures (and lack of reviews), but now I'm so glad I took a chance. It is adorable. The fit is cozy and more breathable than other raincoats. And I super love the green with the tartan lining.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Staying Dry in the Rain The Pendleton Signature Spokane Raincoat will keep me dry even in heavy downpours. The styling and design is unparalleled to any raincoat I've owned. Seam sealed technology is a fine detail in construction that I've come to expect from Pendleton. It will keep me looking good even in the rain.
