Good design stands the test of time, and this women's jacket has been a favorite for more than 70 years. We've brought back the curved front hem and added a chest pocket—just like the original 1949 version. Crafted of lightweight Umatilla virgin wool woven in our Northwest mills. Unlined.

<span itemprop="description">I think i received the last Medium in stock. The fit was good but the wool is very thin. The plaids were not matched at the seams like the ones made years ago..having said all of that, I like the jacket and wish they would continue making 49'r.</span>

<span itemprop="description">Very pleased with the style, fit and plaid matching on this jacket. After a review that said it ran tighter across shoulders, ordered a large but feel a medium would have worked, also. It lives up to the Pendleton reputation of quality-made clothing.</span>

<span itemprop="description">I came to Pendleton for a new 49er. I have three, one that I sent off to have moth holes repaired. When I saw the red-gray-white plaid, I was taken aback. It is not beautiful. The breast pocket is ugly. And reading reviews, I learned the back has been redone. Why ruin a perfect thing? I will come back to look, but I won’t buy until there are beautiful plaids and the problem areas are fixed and the reviews are all glowing.</span>

<span itemprop="description">I am shocked that Pendleton has lost their attention for detail. The plaid on this jacket is horribly matched. It’s as if they’ve no regard as to how it was cut & sewn. As a matter of fact all of the plaid garments are like this. Pendleton was always synonymous with quality so one never minded paying the price. Well that’s gone out the door! Amazon & Walmart sell better quality clothing.</span>

<span itemprop="description">I really wanted to love this jacket, and there is much to like -- but it's not the famous jacket I remember my mother wearing. First, as others have mentioned, the plaid doesn't match at all seam points. The breast pocket is distracting, not flattering. The seams don't seem carefully finished. However -- on the plus side, the wool is high quality. It's soft, and warm, nature's great insulator. If the plaid match isn't a big deal to you -- and not everyone even likes matchy-matchy -- then you'll probably love this jacket!</span>

Why are you calling the Topster a 49er Jacket. The Men&rsquo;s Topster has three pockets. The Women&rsquo;s 49er has two pockets. Are the tags for the Women&rsquo;s 49er Gold Thread like the original? And the Men&rsquo;s blue like the original? &nbsp;Do NOT rewrite history.&nbsp;

You are correct that the original 49er jacket only had two pockets. Our labels have changed over the decades and now both men's and women's labels use the same blue and gold threads.
