Willard Clark (1910-1992) was a pioneering printmaker, typographer and illustrator who found artistic inspiration in the people, the culture, the architecture and the land of Santa Fe, New Mexico. His unique and innovative artwork is now synonymous with the traditions and heritage of the Southwest. Here Clark's mastery of subtle coloration is wonderfully evident in this beautiful tapestry. From the sun-dappled foreground to the rich adobe church, this image captures one of the most celebrated shrines in the Southwest. A destination for artists and pilgrims, Santuario de Chimayo continues to be a place of mystery and miracles, even to this day. This tapestry is woven in our own translating complex images with subtle gradations in color. The color, detail and depth capture the original painting with extraordinary accuracy. 100% pure virgin wool. 48" x 48".
