Working from the ripe fruit, picked from a tree in her yard, the artist spent two seasons painting the original piece. 100% pure virgin wool. 70" x 54". The works of Molly Cliff Hilts emerge in an intriguing new medium. This tapestry is woven in our own Northwest mill using unique new technology capable of translating complex images with subtle gradations in color. The color, detail and depth capture the original painting with extraordinary accuracy.
Molly Cliff Hilts: This talented Northwest artist works in encaustic (hot wax mixed with pigment) to achieve the luminosity and intensity of color that is her signature. Her oversized, semi-abstract fruit paintings can be found in notable collections across the country and Canada.
