POSITION HAS BEEN FILLED
Job Purpose:
Construct a proto-type garment using established production standards and requirements; assist garment product development teams to provide a quality product for the consumer. This position is full-time, non-exempt.
Job Functions:
Sew complete proto-type garments according to established standards for product team review and for production contractor's reference
Resolve garment cutting, construction, pattern issues with appropriate person
Document fabric, construction, and/or pattern comments on worksheet
Sew wear-test garments and comment on fabric, sewing, pressing
Sew special project garments i.e. Photography Looks, Roundup, Rose Festival
Press garments for specific purposes i.e. Sales Meetings, Contractor Proto Reviews and note any production issues
Assist in maintaining sewing reference mock-ups for future reference and use.
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
Knowledge of production garment construction including jackets, skirts, pants, blouses, dresses, coats
Working knowledge of garment industrial sewing equipment, i.e. single needle machine, overlock machine, button hole machine
Working knowledge of garment industrial pressing equipment, i.e. buck press, low boy irons
Work with various fabrications
Able to construct garment from specification sheet
Attention to details
Knowledge of textiles helpful
Knowledge of pattern making helpful
Physical Demands and Working Environment:

Interaction with cutter and pattern makers
Verbal communication resolution of garment issues
Written communication documentation of sewing comments
Visual high accuracy garment to reflect measurement target within tolerance; match colors; thread needles; measure trims
Sitting at operating machine
Knee pressure for machine control
Hand and arm manipulations for sewing control of garment pieces under machine needle and for pressing overhead arm and hand/lower arm pressure
Lifting of industrial weight hand irons up to 8 lbs.
Movement between equipment
