Manage the operations of a three-shift Finish Department in a textile production mill. The mill manufactures superior fabrics and yarns from virgin wools and other high-grade materials to satisfy the textile needs of Pendleton's Menswear, Womenswear, Blanket, and Home Divisions, other apparel manufacturers, and contract furniture manufacturers.

Key Responsibilites:
  • Manage the operations of the three-shift Finish Department, ensuring the safety of all employees
  • Adhere to quality standards
  • Meet delivery dates by scheduling production through the department and expediting goods with due delivery dates
  • Attain standard costs by the effective utilization of personnel and equipment
  • Control and reduce rework and waste costs by continual monitoring and development of procedures and processes
  • Achieve quality objectives using departmental work instructions, customer requirements, and process specifications
  • Develop and modify work instructions for effective and efficient department operations
  • Analyze problems, determine root causes, and prepare corrective or preventive action reports when appropriate
  • Purchase and control chemicals, supplies, parts, and materials
  • Ensure the proper maintenance of departmental buildings and equipment
  • Administer company policies and work rules consistently
  • Administer the Collective Bargaining Agreement fairly and equitably
  • Hire, train, and evaluate employees to identify those who should be retained, terminated, or promoted
  • Promote a safe working environment by training and supervising employees in safe working habits and correcting unsafe conditions
  • Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned


  • Qualifications:
    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and problem solving ability
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and easily adapt to changing priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with MS Outlook, Excel, and Word

  • Physical Requirements:
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, and move about the production mill

  • Education /Experience:
  • Bachelors Degree in Industrial or Process Engineering or equivalent
  • 10 or more years of production management experience, preferably managing three shifts
  • Experience with ISO 9001:2008, or equivalent quality management system
  • Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities


  • Work Environment:
  • Production Mill, requiring the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including hearing protection and non-skid shoes
