Position Overview:
Pendleton Woolen Mills is a 100+ year old, vertically integrated manufacturer, wholesaler, and multi-channel retailer of quality Apparel and Home Products. Senior Designer executes design process from concept to initial prototype working with development and technical design on assigned product across multiple categories and seasons. The Senior Designer is fully responsible for entire product design process to include market research, concept, color, presentation boards, sketching, fabrics and trims. This position is full-time and exempt..

Principal Accountabilities:
  • Researches global, domestic and competitive markets to identify new trends, fabrics, and techniques. While maintaining brand integrity.
  • Executes creative vision directed by Chief Creative Officer and Design Manager.
  • Accountable for department financial goals including target margins and profitability.
  • Partners with merchandising team to set seasonal framework and ensure creative ideas and business goals including key items and margin drivers.
  • Maintain daily communication with merchandising, product development, materials team and technical designers regarding development issues.
  • Adhere to cross-functional calendars and attend meetings as required. Executes to timelines and provides timely solutions.
  • Presents seasonal concepts and styles to internal and external audiences including the Executive Team as needed.
  • Must have strong knowledge and understanding of product/consumer and contribute to business acumen.
  • Serve as a mentor to designers.


  • Skills and Qualifications:
  • Ability to design and create innovative concepts.
  • Outstanding sense of style and color including thorough knowledge of fabrications.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships across departments and divisions.
  • Clear and effective written communication and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Flexible/adaptable in a fast paced environment.
  • Proficient in PLM, Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suites.
  • Minimum 8 years experience.
  • Ideal candidate will have men's and women's experience.
  • Degree in Fashion Design or plus five years experience in lieu of degree.
