Position Overview:
The Retail Planner position is part of the DTC Planning Department and reports directly to the Retail Merchandise Planning Manager. The Retail Planner is a detail oriented, energetic individual with strong communication and follow through skills to assist the Retail Division planning and coordination of assigned merchandise categories to ensure on time delivery of quality merchandise in support of sales and profitability goals.

Principal Accountabilities:
Pre - Season
  • Assists in the successful execution of financial and inventory plans and strategies to meet or exceed sales, gross margin, in-stock and inventory goals.
  • Assists in analysis to support merchandise Pre-Season assortment plans by Department, Class, Style count, Color count, units and dollars that align with seasonal financial plan and merchandise strategy.
  • Writes purchase orders that allocate merchandise to meet specific store target customer needs.

  • In - Season
  • Assists in analysis to manage efficient inventories by location
  • Provide item level analysis for in season management and identify both top and non performing product
  • Prepare price change list
  • Perform Ad-Hoc analysis on Class opportunities, pricing, sizing, and various analysis to improve performance and profit performance
  • Prepare month and season end business recaps
  • Monitor inventory level and place weekly/daily in season reorders as needed
  • Track and modify purchase orders
  • Place in-season reorders
  • Actively collaborates with entire planning team on ideas to improve profit and planning process


  • Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 2 years retail experience
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Highly motivated, organized and able to adapt to changing priorities and a fast-pace.
  • Ability to create strong working relationships with management and external resources
