Position Overview:
The Menswear Design Assistant will support the Design and Merchandising team throughout the design process, assisting in the creative development of successful Menswear apparel product that delivers value and style, as well as communicating Pendleton's brand within a designated timeframe..

Principal Accountabilities:
  • Assisting in the seasonal development of the Menswear line.
  • Executes fabric, finish, sundries and trim developments / research
  • Assists with coordination of raw materials for sample development through daily follow-up with Design & Development to include finding and recommending alternatives and substitutions
  • Create and update tech packs PLM
  • Review/measure proto garments
  • Create and modify technical drawings for development using Illustrator
  • Assist in preparation of seasonal trend boards, including swatches
  • Makes yarn skeins and color reelings seasonally
  • Assist with sales meeting preparation, set up and presentation
  • Assist with preparation of Design meetings
  • Create plaid layouts using Plaidmaker Pro software
  • Execute the design process components to achieve or exceed targets for the seasonal calendar, assortment plan and source location requirements
  • Supports Designer and Merchandiser and performs other duties as assigned

  • Additional Qualifications:
  • Demonstrates a high degree of professionalism in communication, attitude and teamwork with customers, peers and management
  • Demonstrates a high level of quality work, attendance and appearance
  • Strong team player with the ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment with changing priorities
  • Excellent working knowledge of garment construction

  • Skills and Qualifications:
  • Degree in Textiles, Fashion Merchandising, Design or equivalent years of experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PLM
  • Illustrator, In Design and Photoshop
  • Multi-tasking
  • Works well in a team environment
