Job Title: Knitwear Apparel Developer

Job Location: Corporate Office, 220 NW Broadway, Portland, OR 97209

This position will collaborate with Design to interpret sketched designs into technical specifications, working with outside vendors to define materials, sweater knitdown patterns and prototypes for sample and production ready garments, meeting both the aesthetic need as well as adhering to Pendleton fit, construction, and quality standards.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Develop initial tech packs for assigned styles, managing each style thru fits and revisions comments until each style is commercialized for production and meets Pendleton quality standards.
  • Develop and approve knit downs.
  • Analyze and recognize problematic garment styling to reduce issues in production and work to lower or minimize overall product cost.
  • Collaborate with other members of the garment development team on construction methodology to achieve consistent aesthetic, fit, and construction to support QA standards.
  • Work with other development team members to meet or exceed development schedule timeline to insure on time development as measured by calendar and development dashboard.
  • Understand Grading concepts and Grade rules and how they apply in development of new product.
  • Work on special projects as assigned.
  • Consistently demonstrate strong human relations skills and professionalism to resolve conflicts and contribute to a positive work environment.

  • Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years experience in apparel product development, as well as 2-3 years in sweater development.
  • Experience in the building of technical specifications in a development and production environment using product data management systems.
  • Understanding of garment fit.
  • Excellent human relations skills, including listening and speaking.
  • Proficient in use of Illustrator software helpful.

  • Other:
  • Standing, sitting, for up to 8 hours a day.
  • Additional computer skills including familiarity with Excel, Outlook, and Word.

  • Downtown corporate office working location with convenient access to bus and MAX.
