Position Overview:
Pendleton Woolen Mills is a 100+ year old, vertically integrated manufacturer, wholesaler, and multi-channel retailer of quality Apparel and Home Products. We are looking for a Catalog Print / Graphic Designer to facilitate catalog design and layout to create brand inspired catalog pages that appeal to the Pendleton customer and maximize sales. This position reports to the Corporate Creative Director and will align objectives directly with corporate branding and marketing objectives. This position will also develop assigned projects in other areas such as direct mail, store signage, packaging, brochures, etc. This is a full-time position and is exempt.

Principal Accountabilities:
  • Create and maintain grids / standards for catalog pages.
  • Create concepts and page formats in collaboration with Corporate Creative Director, Merchandising and Marketing.
  • Layout catalog pages and pacing appropriate to the season and product, and in accordance with the catalog merchandisers pagination plan.
  • Partner with Design and Merchant teams to determine creative execution based on business needs.
  • Build effective internal partnerships and actively promote cross-functional collaboration to insure business goals are achieved.
  • Ensure all business initiatives are delivered on time and support company objectives.
  • Attend internal and external project and layout reviews.
  • Proven ability to understand and interpret visual presentation direction.
  • Mentor and coach junior designers.
  • Stay abreast of competition landscape and best practices.
  • Develop assigned projects in other areas such as POS, packaging, brochures, etc.


  • Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 4 years experience in catalog design.
  • Post production experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of typography.
  • Proficiency with InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator.
  • Proven ability to succeed in a large, fast paced, creative organization.
  • Ability to respond effectively, positively and appropriately to creative feedback.
  • Ability to produce quality work with aggressive deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and sound written skills.
  • Self motivated.
  • Experience handling multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Work collaboratively with copywriter.
  • Build positive relations with people throughout the company.
  • Prior magazine and/or apparel catalog art direction experience.
